tapeOS is film software for football programs. It reads the film you already keep in Hudl, listens when you talk through it, and writes the breakdown tags you approve back into your own Hudl columns. This page says exactly what it handles, where that goes, and what it never does.
What it handles
Your film and its breakdown data, read from Hudl using your own Hudl login. Your voice, but only while you have the microphone turned on. The questions you type. A code that connects the tapeOS extension to your tapeOS account.
Your voice
The microphone is off until you turn it on, and it stops when you end the session. While it is on, what you say is sent to tapeOS and passed to Deepgram, a speech-to-text service, which turns it into text. The text of what you said is kept in your program's own session record so you can see what tapeOS heard and correct it.
Answering your questions
When you ask a question about your film, the relevant breakdown data is sent to Anthropic, which helps compose the written answer. Every number in an answer is calculated by tapeOS itself, not by the model, and every answer names the plays it came from.
Your Hudl account
tapeOS never asks for your Hudl password and never sees it. The extension acts through the Hudl session already open in your browser. It reads your cutups and clips, and writes a breakdown value only after you have seen it and approved it.
Kept in your browser
The extension stores the code that connects it to your tapeOS account, which tapeOS program it belongs to, and small things that make the panel work: the clip you are on, whether the microphone is on, and how many plays you have watched. Removing the extension removes all of it.
Kept on your own server
Each program's tapeOS runs on its own server with its own storage. Your film, your breakdown data, what you said during a session, the tags you approved and the questions you asked are kept there so tapeOS can answer from them later. Another program's tapeOS cannot read yours: the data is not on that machine.
How long it is kept
Your film and session records stay until you delete them or ask us to. tapeOS does not expire them on a schedule today, and this page will say so plainly if that changes.
What it never does
It does not sell your data. It does not share it with anyone beyond the services named on this page, which are used only to make tapeOS work. It does not use your film to train anyone's model. It does not advertise to you, and there is no tracking of your browsing.
Keeping it safe
Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Each program's storage is separate, and the credential for one program cannot open another. Access is protected by the code you use to sign in, which is why it should not be shared outside your staff.
